Welcome to Nourish Food Life – I’m Samantha Butcher. I’m a passionate foodie who loves to create vibrant, delicious, mostly plant-based food using seasonal, local, organic produce. Fortunately for me, I also have a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Health Education & Promotion), and postgraduate studies in Wellness Coaching & Positive Psychology, which allow me to teach kitchen garden cooking to children, run community food education programs, and provide food and wellness coaching to individuals and families, helping them to build more positive relationships with food. Needless to say, I love my work.
My own food life nourishes me on many levels. Whether it’s harvesting produce fresh from the veggie garden to cook, relishing the creative act of cooking, seeing my students’ delight at a new culinary discovery or simply enjoying the pleasure that sharing a good meal with others can bring; all these things enrich my life in a way that a ready-made meal from the supermarket never could, and give me countless moments of health-giving happiness.
I believe that eating is one of life’s great pleasures, and that a healthy relationship with food allows us to eat foods we love and still be in vibrant health. I also believe that it’s possible to create this relationship at any age.
It’s my aim to inspire and support others to cultivate this love of food, food that nourishes bodies, delights the senses and is gentle on the environment.
